The nine yards of imagination and colourful creations....

I have set up this blog since long but could not bring myself to write anything, although had so many thoughts in my meandering mind.  Today I decided to write something which really impressed me and drove me to write about it.

Saree is an Indian attire, which is still in fashion but often replaced by other alternatives or even western outfits.   Saris has become an occasional outfit in present times and the younger generations are loosing its touch with the nine yards, which was once adorned and was actively worn by the freedom fighters in all actions.   I myself watched the transformation of daily ritual of wearing sari to other alternatives, which of-course gave a new identity to the women in the professional world.

The attire of Indian women during the freedom fight was none other then nine yard saris.

I came across the page of Ratnaboli Ray,  (adorned in simple black and red (my favourite combination) Byloom Sari) - Mental health activist, psychologist  and a TV Talk show host, presenting herself in wonderful Saris created by weavers of Byloom.   Here she is in her lovely selection of contrasts.
